Big Hanna is available in five different models
The variation in capacity in mainly due to the wetness of the food waste. The drier the food waste the higher the capacity. For commercial kitchens we recommend that the food waste is weighed for 1or 2 days to see how much food waste there is.

Options - for easier handling

40L inlet with or without a shredder
A 40L hopper fed inlet is available for models T60, T75 and T120. This is a very good solution especially for commercial kitchens that handle large quantities of food waste. The 40L hopper fed inlet is delivered with or without a shredder. The inlet increases the length of the machine by 70 cm.

Technology - this is how it works

The ventilation system supplies air to the biological process
The material is aerated when the air is pulled through the cylinder by the fan. The ventilation system makes it possible to take care of and avoid bad smells. Usually the air is led into the sewage. If this is not possible the Hanna biofilter is a good option.

Electricity consumption is very low
The cylinder is usually rotated 1 minute every hour only. The biological process generates a temperature of 55-65ºC and this is why the energy consumption is low even if the machine is installed outdoors. When the temperature between the hood and cylinder drops below 0ºC there is a heater that pre heats the air before it goes into the cylinder.

Temperaturesensors make it possible to monitor the process from the digital display
All models(with the exception of the T40) are now equipped with temperature sensors inside the cylinder. The temperature is measured at three locations in the cylinder, the front, middle and back. The temperature is shown in the digital display at all times showing the current temperature. The digital display can be connected to a PC and the temperature in the cylinder can be logged and the process controlled from the PC.
Bin lift
A small bin lift is available for model T240. The bin lift facilitates the feeding and handling of the food waste.

Trolleys for drainage
For canteens we can offer a trolley to facilitate the drainage and handling of the food waste.

IMC macerators and dewatering equipment
Food waste from restaurants/ canteens often contains a lot of water. We have formed an exciting partnership with the UK's leading manufacturer of food waste disposal equipment, The Imperial Machine Company (IMC). As a result of dewatering, the initial volume of wet food waste is reduced by approx 80% before being fed in to the Big Hanna Composter. Contact our sales staff to discuss this option!

Biofilter
A well managed compost where the decomposing process works well does
not create a foul smell but the air should nevertheless be taken from the installation site. There are essentially three ways of handling this - connection to an existing sewage system, a biofilter or if the area is not densely populated - the air is just led utdoors. The Hanna biofilter ensures that there is no smell in the airflow that is led outdoors.

Loggning
For Big Hanna models T60-240 software is available for logging of settings and temperatures on your computer. By using a cable connection to a computer the temperatures are logged every 10, 30 or 60 seconds or minutes.
